Can You Play Music on Fitbit? (Question Answered!)

One of the best ways you can relieve stress is by playing cool music. We are fond of playing music on phones but it’s time we adapted to the new trend, which is listening to music through smartwatches.

In today’s session, our focus will be on the Fitbit. Specifically, we will investigate if this particular watch is capable of playing music. So, can you play music on a Fitbit watch?

I won’t beat around the bush, you cannot play music directly on any Fitbit smartwatch.

A while ago Fitbit users would store songs on their watches for offline listening however, that came to a standstill on 31st March 2023 when Fitbit decided to no longer support the storage of music on its devices. The worst part is, that the latest models namely Fitbit Versa 4 and Sense 2 can neither stream nor store music.

Fortunately, we have an alternative to this and it’s the Google Pixel Watch. The reason it’s a good alternative is because it features extensive Fitbit integration, that allows the streaming of music from third-party apps like Deezer and Pandora.

Even though streaming and storing music on Fitbit is now impossible you can still use it to control songs playing on your phone. I will show you how to enable music control on Fitbit in a moment.

Which Fitbit Allows You to Play Music?

We’re sorry, but since Fitbit does not support music playback, we cannot offer any suggestions for that. However, you may consider the Google Pixel Watch as it has a great Fitbit integration. If you’re interested in the Google Pixel Watch, you can check out the direct link we provided earlier.

Why Is Music Support Withdrawn from Fitbit?

Fitbit did away with music support on Fitbit after it removed compatibility with music streaming apps such as Deezer and Pandora. There is only one likely reason Fitbit ended music support on Fitbit and that is because they want to direct more Fitbit users to buy the Google Pixel Watch. To show that am right, look at the latest Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4, they don’t come with music streaming features as well as storage for downloaded songs for offline listening.

Can You Listen to Music on Fitbit Without a Phone?

As of 2023 Fitbit smartwatches like the Sense 2 and Versa 4 stopped storing music and streaming from third-party platforms like Pandora and Deezer so, you cannot play music on them.

Although you cannot play music on Fitbit Sense 2, Versa 2, Versa 3, and Versa 4 you can still use them to control songs playing on your phone without forgetting the Fitbit 5 Charge 5.

For Fitbit to control the songs playing on your phone it must be connected to the phone through Bluetooth.

Loss of connection will make the watch fail to control songs, which means you will always need your Fitbit close to the phone.

When Fitbit is away from the phone you can’t control music, it’s either you bring Fitbit closer to the phone or control music from the phone itself.

How Do I Put Music on My Fitbit?

Sadly, there is no way you can add or put music on your Fitbit because the ability was withdrawn by Google (the new owner of Fitbit) on March 2023 however, you can set up Fitbit to control music on your phone.

But how do you set up Fitbit to start controlling songs on your phone? It is easy! Just follow the simple steps I have provided below.

How to Setup Music Control to Control Music on Fitbit
