Is Fitbit Premium Worth It? (Question Answered!)

Are you familiar with Fitbit Premium? It’s a personalized plan available in the Fitbit app that helps you stay active, manage stress, improve sleep, and more. If you own a Fitbit smartwatch or tracker, you may have heard of the Fitbit Premium Membership Plan and may be wondering if it’s worth signing up for. So, is subscribing to Fitbit Premium worth it?

I highly recommend subscribing to Fitbit Premium as it provides a range of advanced health and sleep tracking features, as well as meditations and guided workouts.

In addition, the 2021 update includes a new feature called the readiness score, which allows you to monitor how hard you exercised the previous day, the quality of your sleep, and your heart rate variability. This feature can help you monitor your stress levels and determine if you need to rest.

Overall, Fitbit Premium is definitely worth the investment, whether you choose a monthly or annual subscription.

Why would I want Fitbit Premium?

If you’re looking to track your sleep and gain personalized insights, wellness reports, and monthly sleep profiles, consider joining Fitbit Premium. Each day, you’ll receive a breakdown of your sleep score based on data collected by Fitbit.

How Much Does Fitbit Premium Cost?

Fitbit Premium is a paid service that requires a monthly or yearly fee. However, if you’re opening a Fitbit Premium account for the first time, you can take advantage of a 6-month (90-day) free trial period.

After the trial period is over, you will be billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you select. This brings us to the inquiry, “What is the price of a Fitbit Premium?”

You have the option to choose between two plans for Fitbit Premium: monthly or annually. If you reside in the UK, you will pay £7.99 per month or £79.99 per year. For those in the United States, the prices are $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year.

How Do You Cancel Fitbit for Free?

A Fitbit Premium Membership Plan can be canceled at any time and in different ways. I encourage you to read this post I created on multiple ways to cancel Fitbit Premium.

What Features Do You Loose Without Fitbit Premium?

If you choose not to subscribe to Fitbit Premium, certain features will not be available to you. These features include Sleep Tools, Guided Programs, Workouts, Advanced Insights, and access to the Health Metrics Dashboard.

1. Sleep Tools

With the Sleep Tools offered on Fitbit Premium, you get a detailed breakdown of your sleep to find ways to improve it. So, without Fitbit Premium you lose getting a detailed breakdown of your sleep.

2. Guided Programs

Fitbit Premium offers a Guided Program that provides step-by-step instructions to help you eat healthily, sleep better, and stay active. Each program lasts for 7 days, and check-in reminders are included to ensure you don’t miss anything. It’s a great way to improve your overall wellness!

3. Workouts

Before being called Workouts it was called Dynamic Workouts. Those who use the regular/free miss out/don’t access planned workouts on Fitbit and videos from Barre3, Daily Burn, and PopSugar.

Examples of planned workouts available for the premium members include Intro to HIIT, Yoga, Core Crush, Get Moving, Beginner, Body-weight, and Push Up Prep among others.

Without forgetting, Fitbit Premium users are also offered mindful sessions; these mindful sessions are 45+ in number.

4. Advanced Insights

If you buy a Fitbit smartwatch or tracker and opt for Fitbit Premium you get more advanced Insights than a user using a free or standard Fitbit account.

Rather than getting average insights, a Fitbit Premium user will get personalized and in-depth insights reflecting his/her activities.

With Advanced Insights, you will find ways to improve your steps, calories, heart rate, wellness, and sleep.

5. Health Metrics Dashboard

Other things you won’t be able to track when you use a regular Fitbit account include skin temperature variations, skin temperature, breathing rating, resting heart rate, Blood Oxygen Levels (SpO2), and heart rate variability because they are only available on the Health Metrics Dashboard.

What is the Difference Between Fitbit Premium and Regular?

If you have a regular Fitbit account, you will only receive reports on your heart rate. However, if you upgrade to a Fitbit Premium Membership, you will not only get heart rate reports, but also reports on heart rate variability (HRV), breathing rate, SpO2, and resting heart rate (RHR).

Fitbit Premium subscribers have access to workout plans and over 150 videos from popular fitness brands like PopSugar, Barre3, and Daily Burn. However, regular Fitbit users do not have access to these workout plans or videos from PopSugar, Daily Burn, or Barre3.

If you have a regular Fitbit account, you won’t be able to access Guided Programs. However, if you have a Premium account, you will have access to these programs. By participating in guided programs, you can learn how to improve your eating and sleeping habits, as well as increase your physical activity.

Final Thought

It is not necessary to join Fitbit Premium. You can opt for the regular or standard Fitbit and still receive basic health and fitness reports that can aid in maintaining your health and fitness.

If you’re interested in accessing additional health and fitness data, you may want to consider becoming a Fitbit premium member. You can try out Premium for free for the first 90 days and cancel at any time before the trial period ends to avoid being charged.
