You are right the Fitbit Charge 5 doesn’t have a side button:there was a slight error and it’s now rectified. If your Fitbit heart rate is not working try this link.

This is the best explanation I have read regarding the wrist band issue. Got mine as a Christmas gift and now the socket holding the band continually comes off the fitbit body. For a device used to encourage activity it must be a bad design. I am a racquet player and the watch is on my non dominant hand. Needless to say that I am disappointed.
